Music is beneficial for the mind, body and soul. It is a means for expressing devotion, healing, bringing about relaxation and experiencing different emotions. It also aids in memory and concentration. This course involves step by step training in playing, singing and note recognition with Madhukari (BMus Indian Music). It takes techniques from the Indian classical music tradition and Naad Yoga (healing Yoga of sound). These skills will provide the foundation for playing and singing kirtan and various melodies in general. We aim to learn some basickirtan melodies by the end of the course.
